During the summer term we were delighted to welcome Olympian alumnae, Marilyn Okoro, virtually and then in person to Abbot's Hill.
Marilyn kindly offered to take part in a Q&A Evening with the Abbot's community. Hosted by Mrs Doyle, current Senior Deputy Head and former Director of Sport, and Miss Roberts, Abbot’s Hill alumnae and current Director of Sport, Abbot’s Hill welcomed back Marilyn Okoro. Marilyn is a British Track and Field Athlete and despite her dreams of playing lacrosse she found huge success around the track coming third in the 800m at the 2007 and 2008 World Athletics Finals. Joined by families from Abbot’s Hill ‘A Question of Sport’ the virtual evening was a fun and informal question and answer with pre submitted questions being asked as well as live questions from those attending.
Prep Prize Giving was hosted by Marilyn as she gave an inspirational speech to the Year 5 and 6s about how to 'smash' their goals, self confidence and believing in themselves. She also spoke about her time at Abbot's Hill. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed saying hello to Marilyn as she was given a tour of the grounds.
If you would like to visit or offer to speak at an event please do get in touch, the doors at Abbot's Hill are always open!
