On Saturday 12 May, Abbot’s Hill were delighted to welcome back our Old Girls for the biannual AHOGA Reunion. The day brought together Old Girls from a number of different eras to catch up and reminisce, as well as former members of staff.
The day began with the Annual General Meeting and an address by the Headmistress and AHOGA President, Elizabeth Thomas. This was followed by the Reunion Service, with beautiful musical contributions from Year 11 pupils, Eve and Rebecca, accompanied by Mrs McAdam
Guests were then enjoyed some competitive Old Girls v current pupils Lacrosse and Netball matches organised by Miss Fox-Sayer. All of the girls had great fun playing against each other and the spectators enjoyed cheering the teams, especially as the Old Girls team included a Lacrosse World Cup player, 2
014 leaver Phoebe Smith.
The AHOGA Committee kindly donated a tree to be enjoyed in the school grounds and this was planted during the Reunion. Mr Rance, Head Groundsman, planted the tree assisted by Old Girls who took it in turns to help.
A delicious lunch followed, thanks to our wonderful Catering team, before our visitors enjoyed a tour of the school guided by some of our current Senior School pupils.
The Old Girls were thrilled to see how the school has changed and continues to develop over the years, and the pupils enjoyed hearing about the stories from their guests’ time at Abbot’s Hill!
Thank you to the AHOGA Committee, staff and pupils who helped to make it such a special occasion.
