On Saturday 14 May, Abbot’s Hill were delighted to welcome back our Old Girls for the AHOGA Reunion. The day brought together Old Girls from a number of different eras to catch up and reminisce, as well as former staff including Abbot’s Hill School’s Headmistress from 1979-1996, Jacqueline Kingsley.
The day began with the Annual General Meeting and an address by the Headmistress and AHOGA President, Elizabeth Thomas. This was followed by the Reunion Service, with charming musical contributions from Year 10 pupils Mia, Hannah and Jennifer, accompanied by Mrs McAdam.
Guests were then able to enjoy some Lacrosse and Netball matches organised by Miss Fox-Sayer. The matches were played by enthusiastic Old Girls teams, wearing former kits from past years, against current pupils. All of the girls had great fun playing against each other, and the spectators enjoyed cheering the teams.
A delicious lunch followed, thanks to our wonderful Catering team, before our visitors enjoyed a tour of the School guided by some of our current Senior pupils. The Old Girls were thrilled to see how the School has changed and developed over the years, and the pupils enjoyed hearing about the stories and escapades from their guests’ time at Abbot’s Hill!
Thank you to the AHOGA Committee, staff and pupils who helped to make it such a special occasion.
A lacrosse match raising money for the Epilepsy Society will take place at Uppingham School on Sunday 5 May. More...
