We were delighted to welcome back our former Year 11 girls and their families to the GCSE Presentation Evening on Friday 10 November.

Parents and pupils were welcomed with drinks in the Library where they could catch up with each other and members of staff before the formal presentation began in the Theatre.

The ceremony began with an introduction from the Headmistress, Mrs Thomas, who welcomed back the girls and congratulated them on their fantastic GCSE results.

The Chamber Choir performed ‘The Lord is My Shepherd’ by H. Goodhall and ‘All You Were and All You Were’ by A. Simmons before closing the presentation with‘Feel Good’ by L. Tyson and L. Scott. Guests were also treated to a superb clarinet solo by Music Captain, Alice (Year 11), a Reading by Mrs Doyle and a Prayer of Thanksgiving by the girls former Head of Year, Mrs Hodge.

This year’s Guest Speaker was Mrs Christine Edmundson, former Interim Operations Director for the Girls’ Schools Association. She has over 20 years’ experience in independent school leadership as a Head, Deputy Head and Head of Boarding.

After presenting the girls with their GCSE Certificates, Mrs Edmundson gave an uplifting speech to the girls about the importance of their education and their futures, including overcoming stereotypes regarding perceived male-oriented career paths.

It was a fantastic evening of celebration, and we wish the Class of 2017 good luck as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey.
